At least it is apparantly no socialist monkey. No terrorist monkey. No Islamic monkey. According to Republican campaign statements, that would have been really offending!

Well I say, that poking fun at any politician is okay, part of free press. Then you have to think that some men/women are more popular than others. If I post something like this:

Then people are less likely to make a fuzz than if I posted something that poked fun at Obama. Why? Well let's face it: wherever you like it our not, Obama is extremely popular around the globe, considering he's an american politician.

But then again, someone will always be offended. Making a joke about Obama is not racist because it's Obama, or because Obama is black. It could be considered racist if the joke is based upon the fact that Obama is an afro-american.

But remember now, this thread is about Bush

Down here, everyone was allowed to poke fun at john howard's eyebrows, etc, and his 'being a deputy' to GWB, but you should've seen the stink that arose when people started portraying K Rudd in a chairman mao suit, and being referred to as chairman rudd and comrade rudd! the sh!t hit the fan I tell you!

I'm personally going to miss the bushisms, lord knows some of those calendars are going to be highly sought after in the future!!

Of course, historically I've tried to steer discussions away from this kind of idiocy but looks like that's getting harder to do.

Personally I've never associated black people with monkey. If you look like an ape when you pull a face, regardless of skin colour, I'll make the comparison in my mind at the very least. As for that collection, that was well put together

moving right along, how will the new US president deal with our alliance with the fishies?
