Incessantly whining about people whining is possibly more annoying than the whining you keep whining about. Demanding that people close threads you don't like, and now this demanding that people stop complaining about DRM. It's not gonna happen, and you SHOUTING about it all the time doesn't isn't going to change that.

If you don't like it, just don't read the threads.

I have not been able to play the game for few months
Every time I load the save game the game starts loading the situation and then boots me to desktop.

If I start a new game, the tutorial part goes well all the way to the end, but when going out for the "1st real patrol" the game loads and then boots me to desktop ?!?

No crack, No mods and Game updated.

So the game has been in my hard drive since I bought it, but haven't been able to play it for months. I have been waiting for Ubisoft to update the game, but seems that is not going to happen

Is this DRM issue? or is there someother known reason for this?

Appreciate the answer, if some fellow player knows the reason

No mods means it's probably a hardware issue - what are your specs?

Sorry forgot to mention that my hardware has not changed and the SH5 did work earlier. It just stopped working somewhere between 2-3 months.

Other games work as before, so I think the issue must be "SH5 only", unless the 1.2 SH5 update changed the requirements, since I can't remember if the game worked after last patch.

Sorry for being demented and not remembering very accurate

I was just thinking that if this was some usual issue that I could get fast answer from the forum

One of the last things Sorlim did before he disappeared off the face of the planet was to compile a list of issues that could cause a ctd - and how to fix them.

It's a long shot , but something there might help you.

I bought SH5, DRM and all. I have had no problems connecting with the servers and the following statement is based on my personal experience with this "Simulation"

Silent Hunter 5 is going to be the "best" Submarine/U-Boat sim "ever". I base this prediction on (a) The base game/programming is pretty sound and the game stable (b) The amount and quality of the "Mods" released so-far (The sim on my machine is radically different from the original download, both graphically and AI wise). This situation has arisen solely from the dedication of a few very clever and IT savvy modders (You all know who you are). And I for one would to thank and congratulate all of you Guys for your unwavering belief in this great sim.

Thankyou

Its been out for like 6 months now. this has to be the fifteen thousandth thread about how DRM sucks. what makes you think THIS thread as opposed to any of the others is gonna make UBI listen. the ONLY way to REALLY force them is to completely boycott it. and we all know that not going to happen. their a company that only cares about profit, like every other company has become. no matter how but BS the companies produce to claim they "care about players", they cant hide the fact that its a lie. once the games are sold they couldnt give a DAM what you want. just as long as they get a profit. youve all bought the game, given UBI money and now their giving you the middle finger, and constantly complaining and not taking action isnt going to help any.
Is that you, Trenken?

Okay. Little edit to stay within the rules

"My CTD seems to be a DRM issue or my router issue.
I did something "not recommended" to my installation and then everything works, but When I undo the changes to the original state, CTD happens every time when the loading is "final."

No difference if I have the DVD in drive or not

Yes, please read the rules.

Because it is logical and respected to respect the rules rather than confront reality.

Repeat after me : There Is No Problem. I Am The Problem.

And you are lucky we don't execute you. Some countries do for less.

Do not mess with reality. Follow the rules and the law.

Edited my earlier post to stay within the rules

but the authentication issue is still there. Don't know why it originally worked alright when I bought it and installed it the first time. After official updates it stopped working right away or soon after that (can't remember exactly if it worked after update at all).

Has anyone had the same kind of issue?

Good thing I have the SH4 Collector's Edition and even better that I have SH3 + GWX
