Thanks for the link Fish. Not sure I want to go back to 8km, and the links for Alert Sonarman 16km are dead.

I guess it is time to download TT tweaks and mod my own sensors.dat. Rubini stated that it was just a couple of tweaks in the hydrophone section and was identical to the 8km version.

If I compare his modded sensor.dat with mine, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what changes are required.

Unless someone has still has a 4 year old mod zipped on their hard drive they'd be willing to email...

Last night i started patrol in the north sea near scapa flow in jan `40 and i had at least 5-6 crash dives because of the RAF.

My tc was something between 128-256...every 1-2 hours new planes came to attack my sub.

Am afraid to think what will happen late in war if I make it until then.

All day attacks...there is no radar yet on aircrafts so no attack from sky at night.

ok thanks i seem to have finally fixed the problem by launching the game using sh3 commander. at 256x or slower i get lots of aircraft activity. even when submerged at snorkel depth i was bombed a couple times without warning. i also experienced night attacks. basically every convoy i face in atlantic now is escorted by aircraft who quickly sight my periscope. very realistic now.

If close enough, an airplane can see you even if you are submerged. Calm seas such as you get in the pacific and mediterranean and clear water are as transparent as glass. A lucky plane flying above you or close to that can an will see you, even without the periscope up. A supermod to 'sh4' added that to the game, forcing you to dive to 30 or 40 meters to avoid detecton. To be fair, i do not know sh3 enough to say that the game computes that, but it is the case.

When we are talking about the bombing by the planes how deep must you dive to be safe from impact.
The planes in sh3 do not drop the depth charges only bombs right (talking about bomber planes)?

In what range are they effective against your sub?
