Yes, a bit out of topic... but relation between "SH5 case" and "CoD case" is quite visible... Ubisoft destroying nice simulation brands... and forcing people to play 7-8 years old games.

What do you expect from a company that only cares about profits? Start buying from devs/publishers that actually seem to care about their games. Better yet don't buy any games and support Tarn Adams the developer of Dwarf Fortress.

wait till i blow the dust off this profile *blows*

jeez its been a while.

Anyway i have played all the silent hunter series with the exception of SH 1.

so far yes SH5 is a bit of a culture shock due to the difference between 3, 4 (which were similar) and 5. I think i'll survive however. just need to workout which mods im using and i'm sure itll be fine.

well, hello again folks... i'm back after a long time on patrol

with mods SH5 actully is a very nice game to play...I wish tho that it was with american U-Boats....Dont get me wrong, i love playing the german U-Boats but i also loved that the american one i could ping the target...

Look at Stoains mod list and you will get a good feel for the best ones out there...Not that you have to use all the ones he does...I think he plays a Mod game with a bit of SH5...

Obligatory Winston Churchill quote:

"Enemy Submarines are to be called U-Boats. The term Submarine is to be reserved for Allied under water vessels. U-Boats are those dastardly villians who sink our ships, while Submarines are those gallant and noble craft which sink theirs."

Oh come on, you left the door open for that one. How could i resist?

personally, i put the game down a few weeks ago. It seems there are just too many things being worked on in the pipeline that I want in my game, so i'm waiting for those areas to be complete. In the long run, SH5 has great potential and will supercede a lot that has been done in GWX. Not all of it, but a lot.

On the other hand, since "untersee" means underwater, and "submarine" means underwater...

I played GWX a lot back then, but a few days a go i checked subsim and got to the news, mods etc that has been made and for me its now SH5 definitely! More realistic, more immersing etc. I cant't judge all aspects like AI since i played not so much that i can compare but all the major arcade elements are gone + a lot more realism has been added so icant complain right now

What about the campaign?
I still have the feeling its my like "Wing Commander" mission after mission instead of a real "War at Sea" were I can take part where ever I want.
