But in the end the active pickups won out. That, and availability. I would have had to wait a week for the Peavey. The Ibanez was hanging on the wall.
Those Peavey's are nice. I had a go on one in my local muso shop.

I know what you mean about the active electronics, there's a world of tone control at your fingertips.
With that in mind, I was soooo close to buying one of THESE a few years ago. Yamaha TRB1006J 6 string bass...

Excuse me whilst I wipe the drool off my chin and my keyboard.

Then again, if money was no object, I'd have probably acquired a Warwick Bass.

Holding out for a Rickenbacker

Well, I say that now, I'll probably get something else instead for reasons of $$
