New Baby!

Things are happening with my band again. Our new drummer seems to be working out. He's having some personal problems, but aren't we all?

Our lead guitarist had a processor die on him, so he replaced it only to find out his 25-year-old amp was going as well. So the other guitar player/singer and his wife pitched in and now they have matching Marshalls.

And me? I just got me a brand-new (well, actually it's six years old, but it looks like it's hardly been played at all) Ibanez SR-505 Bartolini-pickuped active EQed 5-string. Not only is the thing a dream to play, but the sound is amazing! There are so many possible tonal variations that it's almost like having a built-in effects processor! It may be months before I figure out what sounds I want to use on what songs.

And she looks good too! Just ignore that ugly guy she's with. Some girls have no taste.

Great instrument you snagged there. Good to hear you're enjoying playing with the band too. May the new stuff serve you well at gigs :)

oooh, very nice

I always did like to see the grain of the wood in a guitar, a natural finish is both pleasing to the eye and finger-tips.
Mine's an old westone 4 string, fretless with split mid and an extra bridge pickup (a seymore-something or other). It's a passive doodad, so sometimes the brightness is difficult to bring out (especially with flatwound strings), but it has a lovely warm tone to it.
It was second hand when I bought it but it's a lovely solid instrument.

I should really play it more often.

She's a beauty Steve..... nice long neck and slender body with lovely curves. Used to own an Ibanez myself, albeit the 6 string variety, and I had loads of great years with that guitar.
What sort of tunes are you banging out then?

Nice Bass there Steve ! I'm sure you will get many hours of enjoyment out of it.

They make 5-string basses?

And here I thought bass players could only count to four. (Or is that drummers?) :O:

J/k, she's a beaut. I guess. I don't know from basses.

:yeah: Now we need the picture of you playing it while surrounded by your groupies.

I was a bass player once....
I had a red epiphone 4 string with gold hardware, it was like a ferrari.

but I moved on to guitars, and I have a dean flying v (custom painted by myself to look like Eddie Van Halen's Frankencaster)
an Ibanez RG model, amber, with a locking termolo, in case I need to do dive bombs
and I recently nabbed a blue squier strat, since I enjoy surf rock so much.

But that's a really pretty bass!
