My flack gunners are deadly.
They take care of the bogies.. I stock up and gave them about 9000 pellets. Most often they kill the planes on the first pass.

The key is to turn your ship away from the planes dive at flank speed. Circling works after they first pass. Rarely do they hit.. Most often they will bomb the same spots repeatedly, so avoid the spots the bombed.. They are definately more dangerous late in the war.

They can be very annoying mostly when you are attacking a merchant. But with the correct turns you can get back on target.

Sorry JB I haven't gotten that far yet..
Stock game = Planes are fun

I just finished my first campaign.
It took years to get this far.
Will try GWX soon

This game takes more patience than I'm use too giving.
I've always been into the faster games, I suppose that is why the plane shooting interested me. Fast and furious fun in the IXC..

ALARM!!!! FLOOD TANKS, DIVE PLANES SET FOR STEEP DIVE, RUDDER FULL TO PORT.
duking it out with planes is not only suicide, but i cant do it cause of ethical reasons... My gramps was a spitfire pilot.

When you pull into port, dont lull yourself into a false sense of security, your mines and subnets are just a petty challenge for my crew and I.

me i just dive to around 14'm or so. but time to time i will fight it out with a single plane
Stay underwater as much as possible , and get the snorkel with a RWR system.
this will give you the needed protection, planes don´t fly underwater.:hmm:

stay surfaced is suicide later in the war.

Mast mounted RWR or not, I just got stomped while snorkeling by an undetected aircraft off the Shetland's in November '44. Stay under water for crying out loud, Coastal Command will spoil your entire day given half a chance...
Good Hunting

Yes , it happens in real life, snorkels bombed or machineguned, but is better this than stay sufaced and try to dive.

Also raise some scope is recomended because it helps to detect incoming planes.
