There is no way to deal with the allied air cover late in the war for the u-boats. This is the main reason the u-boats late in the war were not an effective force for Germany.

Sailor Steve 01-31-08 08:11 PM

I play as if my life were on the line, so I go as deep as I can any time one is spotted.

Ivan Putski 01-31-08 08:29 PM

What everyone else said, unless you are caught on the surface, and can`t submerg, don`t deal with them. Crash Dive.

I agree with Steve and Ivan... just play safe to make it to the end of the war, not like in 1939-40-41, when you could expect to have decent results with the flak guns... :hmm:

Bold kaleuns don't make old kaleuns....diving to 50 meters at flank speed and making a course change does:roll: in late war :yep:

We are in this setting:know:

Depends on if I'm playing or testing. If I'm playing I like to keep my
Kaleun and crew alive so it's dive dive dive...

Testing on the other hand sometimes we have to stay surfaced to duke it out so that aircraft behaviours can be observed and reported for adjustment.

Koondawg 02-01-08 04:19 AM

When on patrol I hit P and be done with it....no since taking the chance of risking loosing my boat for a aircraft...:yep:

Konovalov 02-01-08 06:14 AM

Dive or die. It's that simple really. :know: No matter if I have one pea-shooter on deck or a vast array of AA guns it doesn't matter. Crash dive, go deep and cross your fingers or say a little prayer. Staying on the surface and trying to duke it out with allied air assets is either crazy or alcohol induced folly. :yep:

I dive as fast as possible and start the prayers :yep:

its the part where the allies use all this high tech stuff to find you and destroy you, and no matter where you go in the ocean a plane always seems to find you.
