SP Mission "Royal Flush", by The Avon Lady, v1.05

At first, I didn't have the Media.cfg file in there, and thought that might be the problem. So, removing it is unlikely to help any.

SH3 is patched to 1.04, and there isn't a no-CD crack or anything like that.

I've looked through the stickies in there (that's where I came across Jim's suggestion to copy Media.cfg), but can't see anything related to this problem.

When I get time, I'll try 1.02 and report back - thanks for the help. I was hoping to use 1.01, because I'm not a very adept player, and the elite DDs would probably rip me a new ... aft torpedo hatch.

Update:

I've installed 1.02, got rid of "Media.cfg", and still the same problem. Other SP missions load just fine. Aaaargh!

There's nothing unusual about my setup - SH3 straight out of the box with the latest patch - normal sort of P4/ATI hardware, plenty of RAM and HDD. Baffling.

you need one of the ship mods to run it cause it uses a new ship not in the original game.

I'll change it ASAP, if someone can tell me which one didn't come with the game.

Looking at my hardcopy recognition manual I won from UbiSoft ( ), both J's and C's are in. So are the troop transport and the passenger liner.

And I know the VIIB sub comes with the game!

Any mod makers got an idea which unit does not come with the game? What defines a unit? Just the class or also the country?

It´s the PTR (SS Duchess of York), it doesn´t come with the standard game. The ship is part of RUb and also the Merchant Pack.

Can I simply change it from a PTR to a TR and retain it as Canadian, even though TROOP TRANSPORT is not in the editor's roster for Canada or must it be British?

Yes, change it to TR, the nationality doesn´t matter.

Just download the latest version from the 1st post. The mission now uses only standard ship classes.

@Avon Lady... another lucky mission with version 1.02... I have the Transport mod installed, so no problems... DD's seem to be more aggressive now, which is good...

But, after sinking ONLY the Passenger Liner, I received 2 'congratulations' radio messages (while submerged) from BdU for sinking BOTH ships...

The other Transport was not sunk until much later in the mission (premature explosions on intial attack)...

Also, the phrasing of the 2 messages implies that BdU immediately knows that the Transports are sunk... might be better if the radio messages are rephrased as SOS intercepts transmitted in the clear from the sinking Transports.. not from BdU...
