Now we're talking:

This Amazing Deus Ex Trailer Will Need Some Popcorn

Impressive. Looks good, solid. Inspired and creative, which seems to be rare these days.

I know it's a comment that attracts hate, but: I hope they didn't limit the PC version to a controller. Seems like a game that would benefit from the greater control a keyboard offers.

I'm tired of shooters that won't even let you lean around a corner, to just state an example.

It looks combat-centric. I hope that's not how the actual game turns out. I really liked minimizing casualties in DE1.

The only thing I didn't like about DE1, was that you were forced, after a point, to follow your brothers footsteps (so to speak).............. But I wanna keep hunting the NSF, and my traitor brother.

From what I see and hear its another console shooter game... My guess they've already ruined a PC game...

I'm quite interested in this.

I bought the original Deus Ex because everyone raved about it, but once I started playing it I found it to be much too similar to System Shock 2 which, at the time, I'd only just completed. Same engine, same user interface, even the same RPG elements IIRC (only with different names). So I put Deus Ex down and never picked it up again.

But this new one looks like it has potential, and it's a prequel which hopefully will mean that no knowledge of the original story will be needed. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
[In DE:HR] using social skills, social augmentations, and stealth a player is able to play through the whole game killing only the bosses.

It's a first-person game which switches to third-person when you go into cover, so I'm sure it'll use a mouse. As for leaning, I expect that will be built into the cover system, though you never know...

Repeat of what's been posted on RPS, something new at the top showing a bit of gameplay with hacking: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/tag/...an-revolution/

Looks totally lame. Generic and very consolish.

I hope you can turn off the horrible yellow glow. And I still haven't finished watching the trailer. Fiance's internet is being slow. It probably doesn't help that I'm watching Shin Chan on netflix.

Yeah... losing interest as well. Too bright, moves too flashy, silly highlights.

Still have some hopes that the gameplay will actually be decent, along with a strong plot.

After watching the video I'm still interested if the yellow glow can be turned off. If anything I'll judge it by reviews. Or a demo, wink wink nudge nudge square enix.

One thing that stood out about the demo was the ladies annoying voice. She sounds like she's talking to little kids.

Also "Let's do a better job of hiding the body". And then they put the body right behind a see through door >_>.

After the flop that was Final Fantasy 13(or was it 14? I've lost count), and little success with their other games, Square Enix really needs to make a hit with this one. Although that may be the problem in of itself, they're playing it safe to try and bring in more sales, which in turn will just drive away potential sales.

Edit: Also, hopefully overtime you can turn off the button prompts.

Edit2: Actually, now that I think about it, I think i read in Game informer that you can choose how much, or how little hud you have in the options.

Ya that one rekindled some interest... I mean, if it has a strong story driving it and gives the freedom to go full-stealth, might just make it interesting.

Just not interesting enough for full price purchase.
