If as it seems affording a lawyer is out. Do you have a Legal Aid Agency to get advice about sueing the Property Owner for your loss of enjoyment of your liveing situation.

Tenant \Landlord laws in Canada and USA can't be that much different.

The Owner has a legal obligation to provide you with safe liveing conditions.

Yes we have Legal Aid here. I've talked to several other tenants over the years about forming a tenants association so that we could present a united front when dealing with the landlord but nobody seems to want to get involved in that. They just want to bitch & whine about how awful the building has become.

I went to a tenant meeting last month & made a suggestion about getting more security guards. That got shot down immediately so I then suggested that they install more security cameras. The landlord's rep said that they would look into that (whether they do or not is anyone's guess).

Hey that church that is handing out aid in the form of food and clothing?

Maybe they can lend you some aid as well.

I heard yesterday that the church wants to move the drop-in from their building down the street into some unused space in the building right next door.

Fortunately my "source" isn't too reliable (he's full of sh*t most of the time) so it may not happen. Fingers crossed...
