I like.

Is that a sub wreck lying there or does it just look that way?

As for the crewmen, I'm pretty sure they'll improve that as they go along, having the crew run to their stations when battle arises.

Default No US BB

Never mind. I was mistaken in the excitement of the new screenshots - there are no US BBs there at all. Just a Fletcher class DD and a Casablanca Class CVE, and those were already known to be in the game.

@ SK : About the sub, don't know.... This picture comes from a beta version and the guy who posted the picture on a french site doesn't give any information.

I'm not worried. Antialiasing is an old technic.
Say me some old games with AA. I can't remember the oldest with it, but nowadays is a basic standard feature (with the texture filtering and others too).

Back to the threat, very nice dark pics.

But...

...I haven't seen a pic with the sub damaged yet.
I read somewhere that we can see hull holes...
I'm wrong??

Wow, I can already tell this game is going to bring my computer to it's knee's and smash it's face into the concrete. I'm planning to spend about 2k on it when I get my tax return back in a few weeks though.

the screen from MS are taken from a AMD 64 3200 and an Nvidia 7900GT , not an expensive PC.

Not so sure about the "boycott Ubisoft until we get a DC2" message though, they have been pretty good to us recently and the devs have already stated in writing that DC2 is being considered based upon the sales of SH4.

Maybe we should try a "carrot instead of a stick", get a petition or an international "pledge to buy" going at mille-sabords, marinesims.de, subsim, simhq, aces of the deep and anyone else we can think of , they are much more likely to respond to that!

I'm upgrading to the 8800GTX. It's more powerful that this game needs but I'm upgrading for the future.

Um... yeah, how are we going to get a DC2 if we boykott ubisoft. Isn't the exact opposite (lots of sales of SH4) going to work much better. :hmm: Bokotting Ubisoft would ensure we never get a DC2 I would have thought. Plus it just shows ungratefulness. Ubisoft doesn't have to support sims, they can move onto more lucrative products at the drop of a hat, so don't give em the excuse. Plus, I'm sure they would laugh at such a boykott, a boykott from the subsimming community is hardly going to put a huge dent in their profits.
A buy SH4! banner might be a little more productive.

When SH3 was out they say : If SH3 selling are good enough we will make a DC2, we are still waiting a DC2 compatible with SH3.

It s not with a multiplayer limited with 4/8 (internet/LAN) with SH4 (and SH3) that they will make a DC2, they have to rethink completely the multiplayer engine of SHx before thinking of DCx so I didn't beleive in a DC after SH4, rewroting the code will be to expensive so forget DC.
They didn't transalte SH3 in french because it was to exepensive so a new code, make me laughing.

The shallow areas in the chart seem much clearer this time out.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say... but...

SH4 is already a step closer to a DC, as escorts are already controllable in SH4. We could have had a DC2 after SH3, but they decided to do SH4 instead, which I'm fine with. The dev team can't do more than one thing at one time.

Remember that in SH4 we already will have the adversarial mode multiplayer where you command the convoy escort vessels, so the devs are obviously already thinking along the lines of DC2. Plus we have gunnery and American radar & sonar systems are now in place along with lots of pre built destroyer models in SH4 so a push forward to DC2 may not be too great after all.

I do agree that it was unfair of Ubisoft (a French Company) to not make a French translation of SH3, but I believe that SH4 has French and Spanish subtitles.
