I now understand why you wrote the story you did, but I must admit the story's power coupled with it's lack of humour knocked me for six. I've just come back from a good evening at a resteraunt and when I got indoors I thought back to the story and even now the thought of it made me, for want of a better expression, sad. It was a very well written story that evoked a strong feeling of pathos.

, I just find it interesting to see that what you seem to find an amusing line fills me with a sense of desperation that only someone faced with losing a comerade for the first time could feel.
