I used to argue this with a friend at work. The greenies played their hand, they just want an excuse to raise taxes. He was a true believer in this stuff.

Besides the climate is dynamic, not static. Maybe the Earth is really supposed to be hot (like in dinosaur days) and the astroid screwed everything up.

Besides, humans are capable of adapting to change, so who cares.
