It is if you like immigrants. The problem isn't the immigrants, its the economic impact of social and welfare programs. Drop those, let them easily obtain legal permission to work here (and be payroll taxed here), and force them to undergo the same gruelling immigration process every other immigrant has to go through.

We would fill low-paying jobs, help industry and generate tax revenue, whilst providing them the opportunity to properly start a life in the U.S.
Do you seriously think that the current crowd of illegal immigrants would consider working here if they had to become citizens and pay taxes? Why do you think they come over here and send all their money back to Mexico?
