"Does the crews actually actually affect the trim of the u-boat? Will I dive faster cramming them into the bow compartments. I seem to remember a comment concerning this on these forums but have not been able to find it again".
Welcome aboard. ![]() I saw a comment on this the other day and, as far as I know, cramming crewmen into the bow compartments has no effect on diving times. |

WELCOME ABOARD!
![]() Sorry to hear about your recent loss. Good thing it's only a game. I'm also pretty sure that moving the crew has no effect at all. I'm not sure it made all that much difference in real life, given the tons of water moved around in the trim tanks. As far as distance goes, I think you have to see the ship sink for it to be recorded as a kill; or at least be within striking distance so the crew tells you it happened.

AFAIK you have to be within either sensor or rendering range
Around 30KM max IIRC Though pretty sure have been awarded kills further away No it makes no difference to dive times filling the bow with crew |

Thanks guys.
Your answers pretty well goes with my gut feeling on the subjects, but it is always nice to have it confirmed by others. ![]() Will keep you posted. Lt.z.S. Gerhard Thiele is currently roaming the Eastern Mediteranean with one Ore Carrier and one Large Merchant to his credit. The trouble, as always, is to find the time IRL. SH3 is a very time consuming pasttime. Cheers! |

Welcome Stingray67
![]() Lets get one thing straight, SHIII is not a pastime, RL is pastime for your Kaleun:rotfl: Oh, and yes you have to be "in contact" with your sinking's, either visually or by hydrophone. Or by radar, I guess:hmm:
