I'm running after the best and most immersive ambient mod.
The more realistic/immersive is... the best. My suggestion: try both and than make your choice!

The "damned effect" shot has transparent water and the original shot has water made of dirty motor oil or something that is not transparent. The "damned effect" shot recognizes the inverse square effect of light propogation and the original thinks that the sun distributes light uniformly across the frame. Finally, if you look at the reflection of the sun on the water in the original shot, you can see a dull, lifeless wash lacking color or dimension. A light bulb would produce a better reflection. Maybe the water is dusty and doesn't reflect very well. In the "damned effect" shot the colors are appropriate for the time of day and the reflection has a brightness that would come from a reflection off water, one of the most reflective surfaces there is. In every respect, the "damned effect" is far superior to what you had before. Perhaps you see something that I had not noticed?

This discussion is strange, because it's like comparing a car with all the accesorries and another car with less accesories but a nice paintjob.
ROW / PE is the full package, all textures are new: Docks, cranes, grass, seabed, rock, sky and water, underwater colours, reflections, free moving camera, clouds etc etc. EE 4 is only the environments, sky and water reflections, underwater colours and some very nice water effects. So actually you can have both! Install PE 2 and if you like EE4's environment better, just apply the EE4 mod on top of PE 2, then you have it all ![]() I have been PM'ing Wclear about an idea I had, if we could make our mods in small portions, one for clouds, one for water colours etc. then the users could choose what they like, f.ex. Wclears water colours, PE2's clouds and so on :hmm: |
