WOOHOOO great work JScones

Cool it was easy to install I love your new setups and great idea to have the options to remove the game intros!

I had to change the fonts too hard to read on my screen.

Fanfargintabulintariantastic!

I would like to ask, though, roughly how 'randomised' are the merchant tonnages and crush depths. I don't want to know exactly, or why bother? I just hope I don't sink the Aquitania and find out she only weighed 2000 tons. I presume ahead of time that I won't normally get crushed at periscope depth.

Note to self: RTFM!

The variations are limited in order to keep the tonnage as close to historical accuracy as possible, within the limitations of the Silent Hunter III engine.

Tonnage values are randomised between 75% and 115%. But this does not apply to all ships: I'll say no more as I don't want to spoil, but the answer can be found in "Ship displacements.cfg".

Crush depth values are randomised between 90% to 100% of the rated value (by this I mean the theoretical value determined by the Germans for each type. I'm not sure whether anyone lived to confirm these figures, LOL!).

The boundaries can be changed though if the user so desires.

Note my response applies only to the files shipped with SH3 Commander. GWX, for example, has its own version of "Ship displacements.cfg" which includes the Aquitania...default SH3Cmdr does not.

Thanks, Jaesen, for being so kind, but even as you were writing, so was I. See my 'edit' above.

Oh, and I like your new manual, too. Overall a great piece of work.

Default TIP!

<muses> I really should have added a "Tips" page to SH3Cmdr...oh well.

Wolfehunter's screenshot reminded me of something that some of you may find useful.

You are not stuck with the date format of ddd, MMM d, yyyy. You can change this easily by editing a line in SH3Cmdr_**.txt:

Code:
;Date format
;If changing #250, must only use combination of d dd ddd mmm or yyyy
;All abbreviations should be the same character length - pad with '.'
;Day labels are retrieved from en_menu.txt
250=ddd, MMM d, yyyy
For example, Australians may like to use:
Code:
250=ddd d MMM yyyy
Germans may like to add periods.

And so on.
