I do not want to know a mod's inside leg measurment!I want to know he is passionate about gaming and above all fair.If he has a naval background or has special knowledge I want to know as well.Unfortunately you have all taken this the wrong way and I must offer you this quote:
"A gentleman is a man who can disagree without being disagreeable."

Take a leaf from your own book and do not patronise people.

I still do not know why. Is it just curiosity?

My opinion is that this is a bad and ill-advised idea. Theres my 2 pence.

The subsim Moderators are by far the best out there in my view. I was honored to take the role when offered to me by Neal, and I've just had to step down due to real life getting in the way.....for now anyway.

Neal selects the Moderators. This is his house. The criteria he uses is based on his sense of what's needed in a Forum in order to keep it a place where all can flourish and take part in useful and sometimes spirited discussion.

Sometimes, a member may feel that a Moderator is not being fair to them in some way. On those occasions, if you take a time out and then look at the issue in its entirety in the cold light of day, you'll see that the Moderator wasn't as unfair as you thought he was.

There's a fine line between spirited discussion and a thread getting out of control and off topic. The Moderators walk that line every day. If you want to see how good the subsim moderators are, check out some other Forums.

I don't need to know who the moderators are, nor their backgrounds as long as they don't mess with my smoking habit.

I think Linton just wanted to bring Takeda out of his stealth mode ...

By the way spearfish your blog is not real heavy with bio information.

I thought you were a libarian in the UK, right?

Here's Tak's bio ... I've known of him for nine years in fact he was here
when I got here in 99 waiting for SH II ...

I can tell you one thing I've found about him ... He is very smart and would've made a great officer on submarines.

What is a public group by the way ... Sub Club is the only one I knew of ...

That is one of the highest compliments that I have ever been paid. I thank you.

You can read my bio in my profile and in the bio thread. Also, Kiwi did not want to say so as per ettiquite, which I appreciate, but I will reveal that the quoted text is mine.

More effective than moderator bios would be member bios. After all, new members will spend more time interacting with the general membership than they will the moderators. Thus, the individual could get the name of that guy that flamed them, look up the bio, and decide for themselves whether or not to respond based on personal preference and ideology. It would lighten my work load. :p Of course, then we would have nothing buy 100 pages of member bios, and room for no discussion. Maybe not such a great idea after all.
