Default Just tried again.....

I dove to about 60 feet and it just did it again....backed out again and took it down to about 35 feet and deja vu! Everything shuts down and then the sub dies.

Then again, it is running Vista Premium with a Nvidia card of 128 MB.....

Now that isn't normal behavior. Off the top of my head, I can't see any way that Vista would make the game do that, so I don't think the operating system is the problem. You haven't suffered any prior hull damage in this patrol, have you?

this is actually occurring when returning from a saved game...no damage whatsoever. the only other thing I can think of is that I have accumulated a large volume of saved games in silent hunter. I'll go delete some of these. the only saved game I'll keep is probably the sinking of the yamoto.....

Normally I would say that you are in a minefield and that you have hit one of those nasty buggers, but since it occurs when you load a safegame that can't be the reason I guess.

This time my radar picked up a zero and I went to about 78 feet to avoid along the Japanese coastline where it did it again. It was happening periodically along the Marianias Islands where it crashed everytime but now it ran fine for about two weeks playing duration where I took out two European liners and a Zero was just picked up from my radar from long distance.
