And Just Like That.....Everything Goes FUBAR....
Here's something interesting: playing SH 4 out in the Marinias patrol when performing either a crash dive or normal dive from a Jap Zero attack my sub will inadvertenly have every possible device from my sub get destroyed. No enemy is around and I'm talking everything: diesel engines - electric - bow and stern - all pumps - radar - radio - I can't save my sub and my crew dies a cruel and unsual death. I suspect that it is a bug but I've already installed patch 1.4 - this happened 4 times from Feb 1943. :nope:

Are you using any mods?
|
Not only that, but it sounds like you're getting hit by a bomb. You should be diving as soon as the radar picks up the plane, not when it's attacking.
|
In the stock game the Zero has a larger bombload (by a factor of 2) than a RL Betty.

Update....
I went ahead last night out in the clear blue sea and did a crash dive. No planes or enemy contact. The sub disintergrates at 100 meters. The only mod I am using is the 1.4 patch.
|
100 meters is 328 feet. You hit crush depth. Don't go that deep.
|
Just tried again.....
I dove to about 60 feet and it just did it again....backed out again and took it down to about 35 feet and deja vu! Everything shuts down and then the sub dies. :damn:
Then again, it is running Vista Premium with a Nvidia card of 128 MB..... Quote:

Now that isn't normal behavior. Off the top of my head, I can't see any way that Vista would make the game do that, so I don't think the operating system is the problem. You haven't suffered any prior hull damage in this patrol, have you?

No Hull Damage....

Normally I would say that you are in a minefield and that you have hit one of those nasty buggers, but since it occurs when you load a safegame that can't be the reason I guess.

Looks like it played fine for awhile and it does it again...
