FYI you don't need to line up the water line with the horizontal center of the scope, to take standimeter readings.
I think there is a mod out there somewhere, but don't know the name or creator. Maybe someone else does? You can change the gamma setting anytime during the game to brighten things up a little bit. Hope this helps atleast a little bit
