If you gain enough renown you get an extra flotation cask. Of course the first game year is spent building the thing. Not much of a dynamic campaign.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm SH5 Would be nice.....AS A BRITISH SUB !....You could play both theatres, against the Germans and the Japanese. All is in place already with SH3 and SH4. If not, give us Destroyer command 2......Salute !

Hopefully it will be an update of GNBNA with subs modeled also, I neeeeeed an updated GNBNA

I look at SH4 and can see the potential for a Naval Sim along those lines.

That and the number of joysticks required to operate the unit...... 2 to drive the screws, another for the drill / auger. You'd be sweating in no time.

(anybody who's played "America's Cup" on the C64 will know what I mean. They were joystick snapping good times!)

I was more of a Track and Field fan. Yes, I'll get arthritis, but I can still hurl a 16bit colour shotput further than you. :rotfl:

But if we are to take Sage Neal's description of "action", that might not work. I wouldnt classify DW as an action game :p

Default What would you classify as a 'SUBsim'?

Personally, I think that a true subsim has to set the player aboard a Submarine for the majority of the sim. I've never played Destroyer Command, but from the title I'm guessing you're aboard a Destroyer atleast half the time, making it a Destroyer sim, not a SUBsim. Dangerous Waters is a Naval sim, not a Subsim. So, that should narrow it down a little, but I think Neal still refers to any game featuring a submarine, as a 'Subsim', bless his polyester socks.

As most people who voted in my poll will know, I would like to see a new Cold-War era Subsim, but I would be happy with any new dedicated Submarine simulation.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws here, but both DW and Fleet Command have alot of action in them. And DW is a subsim, but alot more too. I would agree that DW can't be termed as an "action" game. But a Fleet Command 2 fits the bill hopefully. We'll see........
