'No way she said'.....
OK, that's strange...no manual, no map, no CODE......

When I got home I tried to get my new copy to work....but my constant tweaking of SH III had left my install so warped that it could not be unistalled in the normal way...

I couldn't reinstall the game either because of leftover in the registry, even after cleaning it.

So, a complete reinstall of XP was my best option.

After installing my brand new Silent Hunter 3 I find:

1) no Starforce
2) no need for the dvd to be in the drive
3) already patched to 1.4

Hi,
Is your copy by Intertoys in English? The web site is not. Cheers MarkL
The game is in English alright, I have a stock 1.4 and a GWX installment....both work exactly the same as my other out-of-the box SH without the need for patching or a dvd.....

You wouldn't know the difference....

I guess it is some kind of benelux/french release because the text on the box is in Dutch and French....while the original release come in a Dutch-only box..

I'm sure more of these will appear.....demand for SH III will be up because of the buzz generated by SHIV....and UBI will gladly put some more DVD's on the market...

As you can see, not all games are the same. Here's one purchased locally here in Maine, USA...a legitimate game put out by Ubi-Scoff. As you can see, the first pic shows the box that everything came in. It has the name, and graphic of the sub being depth-charged, yadda, yadda.
The second pic shows basically the same thing, but the second pic is the reference card.
The third pic again is a carbon copy of the previous two, except it's the in-box manual.
And last, but certainly not least, is the DVD that came with everything. Can anyone tell me what's different? Could it be that the burning in of the graphic on the DVD doesn't match the graphics on the rest of the materials? Can anyone see the 25-digit code to enter to verify it's legitimate, and therefore will load and run properly? Nowhere, on ANY piece of material in this game did I see a code. I had to get a hold of Ubi-Scoff and get the code from them.
This game was purchased about a year and 7 months ago.
