Congratulations! A gripping story of survival. The rising at zero kts, when you can't get positive boyancy at some speed, is obviously a bug. I would not call it a terribly bad bug as in real life it could represent something else you did with all the complicated ballast systems. You found something that works, which is reasonably realistic, Once again congratulstions.
