So, I believe most all of your freeware is now useless." What you said is simply not correct, it´s far from the truth. There are tons of applications and games that work fine on Vista and that were not approved/certified by Microsoft. Some need to the updated, but that´s nothing special, we had the same situation when people moved from Win98 to 2000/XP or even just from XP SP1 to SP2.
