You forgot to mention danlisa, Stabiz, joea, CWorth and konovalov. Let´s take an example, you are buying a car that costs $10,000, some guy comes to you and says to buy the car next to it costing $8,000 but still is way better and has more features than the car you were first buying. Now, isnt that helping?

And the rest of you, why don't you simply stay out of threads about this mod unless you can tell the history of it in a decent way.
A decent way? Can you tell me it´s history? Well, I know that CombatPlanes/GMX (or something like that) made an pay-to-play addon for IL2. They promised new planes etc. but in reality, the "new planes" were using stock models, just the name was changed. Also, they promised Battle Of Britain..... which was fought in the Gulf of Finland in said addon. There you have some history about them and their quality addons.

Let me just start out by saying that I use gwx. Now a friend of mine, maybe x friend bought a copy of this exp. and wanted me to see it, seeing I got him started on silent hunter 3. After an hour of watching this in play I almost barfed. It was the most boaring time I ever spent in my life. He only paid for it because he believes that if it get neg. vibes it has to be good, go figure. Do your self a favor and do not buy this pc. of crap you will only end up using it as a frisbee after a day or 2, use gwx, if it was not for this mod I would have stop playing, it has brought real life back to this simulation for me.

PS.

Thanks dev teem on such a fine job and yes my friend has been converted and loving it.

Regards

Chuck

HunterICX,
Nice to see a dignified answer for a rare change on this subject.

Kumado. as one that advised and beta tested SW-Med, I can say GWX has made everything done to date obsolete. Nothing compares to GWX.

However, when you install GWX ask here about how you can move many of the nice ships in SW-Med that do not appear in GWX. The extra sloops (frigates in SH3), the nice cruisers and others can be imported to GWX and show up without any further editing.
Fortunately, GWX uses many generic entries to allow variation so when a type 2 is called for your Grimsby, Egret and Bittern will be joing the GWX fight.

I put mine in first thing.

I sank the nice Arethusa class, first cruiser sunk in GWX for me and it was the SW-Med one.

This is , of course, in addition to the many beautiful ships GWX also added to SH3

GWX was released 9 moths after SW-med was released in France and incorporates the latest improvements by the finest modders.

One of two Italian CLs

One of the sloops

Another sloop

Arethusa Brit CL

My favorite sloop, HMS Grimsby

I know there are many more ships and I put all three sloops (frigates in SH3) but these I requested be made so forgive me. When the war broke out the sloops were the only escort ships that could accompany the convoys across the ocean. The V&W DDs and trawlers had to meet them for the last eastern leg so these were the only protection mid ocean and that when they could get the few there were.

Ok, thanks.

But, since I have the same disorder Dowly has (all destroyers look the same to me), what is special with these?

PS: To those thinking I have joined the Dark side, I am just curious, hehe.

These were the only ships actually built as convoy escorts prewar.
They are sloops, which the Black Swan class was an improved version of and these are modded versions of that ship.
For those that mod the RND.mis file to have correct ships as escorts these are important as the V&W DDs were the only other major escort but they could not make the whole crossing along with trawlers. The first Hunt class escort destroyers and Flower corvettes did not start to appear until summer of 1940 and the US 4 stackers fall of 1940.
By using type 2 generic in the RND and having more than the one available it adds random possibilities therefore less predictability.
As for the cruisers the Arethusa class was particularly active in the Med with Aurora and Penelope being devastating to Italian convoys and they also manned the picket patrols in the NA.
SW also has an extra Italian DD as well as other DDs and DEs. I also asked them to add one of the Hunt class as a DE so there would be more than the River class. (GW also added a US DE as Brit, a good idea)
When there is but one type 2 and type 3 the convoys can be more easily predicted as to content and that seems a bit dumb, realistic wise.
SW also added an HC;ass. Like the CClass but because the CClass represents the A-H classes by making a new H it could have some of the differences from the earlier CClass.
While the game play is way too active in SW for historic purpose to say it is boring is not accurate as if anything it is way to active. Luftwaffe bombers were often seen bombing ships and I was robbed of credit by bombers. It was kinda fun to watch the AA and bombs fall though.
Certainly weak compared to GWX for those that are serious simmers.

i've got both and i'd say if your going from stock game, play med then play gwx. just to experience the mods really.
gwx will blow your socks off. but i find it fun to play with big mods. med is by no means perfect but it is still fun (especially if your going from stock level game)

Not at any point did Kumando ask for X1/Combat Planes history nor did he ask how to setup a dual install.

NEVER... That @#$@ is only a charged mod... GWX has all the stuff you need... Morover, both of them use the same files, so the machine will crash if you try to prepare this cocktail...

mr chris are you talking about danlisa?

Its nice to see that members who asks questions or got problems with the Seawolves mod are not attacked. Continue like this and there will be no more fights around it
