U-Boat: Battle in the Mediterranean - Silent Hunter III Expansion Pack

Is it "mixable" with GWX?

STEED 01-04-07 06:51 AM

Here we go again, stand by for a full blown all out war.

Clue, X1 product.

Hello, mate!

My advice is to dump that expansion pack, and go with GWX.

HunterICX 01-04-07 07:02 AM

The simple answer is ''No''

the reason:

Supermods are the same as spiderwebs, if you break it by changing files the game will not run properly or not even at all.

the solution:

Create Dual Installs with SH3, 1 for the BOTM and 1 for GWX

How to create a Dual install:

Uninstall SH3 tottally
*reinstall SH3
*change the Folder name of SH3 to for example SH3BOTM
*Run the setup of ur SH3 DVD/CD ROM again and click Repair.
*by doing that the setup will completly creates a new SilenthunterIII folder next to the SH3BOTM one.
*now patch them both to 1.4b and install the Expansionpack and Supermod GWX on them.

Good luck

It's not necessary anyway, GWX has all the Med stuff you need for free.

CWorth 01-04-07 08:19 AM

Joea is right..

Lets just say that you pretty much waste your money paying for something you could get for free and much better quality here with one of the supermods that are available.Ones like GWX and NYGM..Though GWX IMHO is the best of the best.

Just so this one does not go down the same road as the others.Do a search for "X1" on the forum and you will see why you will come across some hostility to asking a question about their products.

So far anytime anyone has asked a question about their products it turns into WW3 or in this case could be WW6 or 7,I dont know as I lost count....and the thread ends up locked.

Don't waste your money on that pack. Simple as that really. :D

Thanx mate:up:. I will use it for the standard sh3 1.4 and gwx.

All X1 animosity aside, I think GWX makes that product obsolete as that "Battle of the Med" product came out quite a while ago and GWX was just released. GWX does everything that the X1 pack does, and a whole lot more. For free.

Applause to HunterICX for actually giving this member some help

And the rest of you, why don't you simply stay out of threads about this mod unless you can tell the history of it in a decent way.

Nothing to see here, move along, move along :88)
