Bismarck Encounter in GW

Well I finally got around to seeing the great battle in the Denmark Straits.... What an anticlimax

Bismark and Eugen steamed straight towards Hood and Wales and they all trained their guns on eachother and sailed on opposing courses at a distance of 4-5km.... Eager as a Beaver I sat there watching, ready to get some great screenshots.... and nothing. Nobody fired!

Frustrating it was, so I charged Wales and Hood at Full Speed, my puny 88 firing wildly. At 2000 meters I launched my eels and sunk Hood and then Wales sunk me with gunfire (Mind you it took two battle ships about 30 salvoes with the small guns and probably 6-7 salvos with main guns before they did ....)

So... how do I fix this? How do I get the battleships to actually engage eachother?
