Rowi58, thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm very familiar with the tragic "Wilhelm Gustloff" episode, having read Gunter Grass' Crabwalk historical novel. So turning the AG124's CHT Transport into a KDF Ferry makes perfect sense to me. And with a new light gray skin, I guess that makes it unique. The NAMT Navy Tanker, based on AG124's ECT, also sound pretty interesting to me, especially with the new navy gray skin you have used.
Since you offered, I would love to see some screenshots of both of these. Of course if you would be willing to share these completed works, I'm sure the SH3 Community would really appreciate it. The same would apply to your WIP projects, the NPTA AA Cruiser and the NAMS Minesweeper, whenever they become available. I'm now up to 50 Merchants and Tankers, including your 2 empty tankers and the 3 wrecked ships, so I'm always on the lookout for more. If you don't mind my asking, how do you go about changing the unit name and details of an existing ship, i.e. like changing the unit name of the CHT into the KDF? Is it as simple as coming up with a unique unit designation and then changing the appropriate .cfg, .dat, .dsd, .eqp, .sim, .sns, .val and .zon files in the Sea/Unit folder to reference this new unit? Or is it more complex than this, entailing various changes in the above mentioned files? If it involves changing the almost unreadable .dat file, then I'm afraid its beyond my capabilities. Thx EmeAzul |

Hi EmeAzu,
o.k. here is a screenshot of the skins for AG124's ECT and CHT: ![]() If you want to downlod them, just klick here: http://files.filefront.com/Skins7z/;.../fileinfo.html With the grey skin for the tanker you can use this ship in navy conoys (looks very good with some cruiser, destroyer and so on). It is very easy to rename a ship. You just need Pack3D - that's all Just make a complete copy of the folder where you ship is in. Open the ship_name.dat file in this folder with Pack3D, press the "Clone"-button - and exit. Then rename all the files in this folder to the new name you want to have (for example: NCHT*.* --> NKDF*.*). Don't forget the *.cfg files in the Roster folders (the nations where that ship is in use). And don't forget to edit both *cfg files - change the ClassName=+. In this way you can easily duplicate a ship and/or give another name to that ship. Hope it helps rowi58 P.S. You can download Pack3D here (5 versions) http://files.filefront.com/P3dAllVer.../fileinfo.html |

Rowi58, thanks a lot for the new ECT and CHT skins and the tips on renaming ships. I'll have to try my hand at cloning one of these days. In the meantime, keep up your great work. It really is appreciated. Cheers

![]() Quote:
sure i can. But i must seperate them from my RND.mis and change the ships in this convoy back to classical stock ships - cause i don't know what kind of ships other users have. I'll think about it (and you must merge that file with your RND.mis). Greetz rowi58 |
