I wonder if a practical solution is a "sea train"?


Not the DARPA sea train but something like this













Several relatively smaller un-crewed container ocean barges connected and pulled by a sea going prime mover.


Like a train, the consist can be changed as the need occurs


When the arrive at a port, they can be separately docked and unloaded without the need for gigantic port facilities.
