The character is pretty obviously asexual, this is just more insulting patronising pandering. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with someone creating a gay cartoon character, but it’s not relevant to Spongebob.
And while I can’t speak for them, I’m fairly sure that the kind of representation the LGBT community wants isn’t random characters being called gay once and nothing else.
