I received an encrypted transmission from BdU, along with its deciphered counterpart, unfortunately I failed to note which one, during 1939.

What exactly?

4. Provide a screenshot which will show all content and installation path of your main Silent Hunter 5 install folder.
5. Describe briefly your mod installation process and specify any error messages you've got during the installation.
What about Generic File Patcher? Everything went smooth there?
Do you use some antivirus software?

Default Magnificent work!

After setting SH5 on the shelf several years ago, I started reading up on TWoS and am giving it a go...so far it has been amazing.

I have encountered one minor glitch so far. When I started my first "practice" Baltic campaign in Memel my boat (a Type VIIB) was sitting with decks awash in the bunker...really "awash"...practically at periscope depth. It slowly surfaces but still only to decks awash. Something amiss there?

I was also wondering if it would still be possible to work on tutorials if I leave the Documents/SH5/data/cfg/CareerHistory tutorial question as "False"? I think I need some practice with all the new stuff before I try to continue on a patrol.

Hi CaptBones,

Nothing to fear with your sub being submerged in bunker. We all see that

Techniciens and engineers are working on few leaks and testing repairs

To do some practice before starting patrols, you could launch some single mission instead of tutorial?
Furthermore in single mission parts, there are some torpedo practice etc

Hey all. My UZO all of a sudden has a square view. I am not sure if I changed any settings. It happened in eastern coastal watters during a massive convoy battle. (ctd happened) before I got several white parts in the screen (radio coding icon, battle stations icon, UZO became white square too. When I loaded a savegame the UZO gave image but remained square. I would like the binocular view back but how?...

I suspect my Nvidia and memory had problems. So now will try running it with msi afterburner.

JGME :

UZO problem :

Now I have never before encountered this problem.

Default Sub sighted messages from friendlies

Hi all,

I'm receiving 'sub sighted' radio messages from all ships, including friendlies.

This is on TWOS 2.2.25, Steam version, with no non-TWOS mods installed.
Screenshots of game folder, jsgme, and patcher should be included in the post.

I have already attempted a full uninstall and reinstall, following the instructions closely.

Has anyone encountered something similar? Any leads are appreciated.

Nicolai

No! There is not need to reinstall!

I got this my self, but i knew that was my mistake.

With the "Option File Editor Viewer" (OFEV) (you already have it installed with TWOS: "data\Applications\OptionsFileEditorViewer"), open the "TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py ("data\Scripts\Menu"), go to the "Radio" tab, and disable the option: "Show sub sighted radio messages", save the option file, and that's it!

But this option is disabled by default, I enabled it to see what it does, and that's the effect, exactly as you described. You have enabled it somehow...

Just edit your your option file with OFEV, save, and problem fixed.

Here is a tutorial on how to use OFEV:

https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...&postcount=442

(there is an image showing the Radio Tab content, where you can see the culprit option...)

IIRC there is a batch script file in one of the TWOS folders, to reistall the options file for a default one, in case you did'nt made changes to the file, or if you want to start with a fresh one.

Edit: is the "Restore Stock OFEV Settings.bat", located in "Silent Hunter 5\The Wolves of Steel - Documentation"

Good luck!
