I have a more capable PC as well, but it is in the shop right now. I usually use the laptop to play older games. I am running Silent Hunter 3 as an administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows 7. I think the problem may well be a mod, but I am still ruling that out.



To put things in perspective, I have been trying to play the single mission 'XXI' and a bunch of weird stuff happens with a save game in that mission. Aside from the crash to desktop occuring, my submarine suddenly becomes stealthier, the task force I am shadowing sometimes splits up and changes course in wierd and wonderful ways and if I do manage to sink the fleet carriers or the escort carrier, the objectives don't update.
