SH 4 1.4 Patch (How to)

How do I get the 1.4 patch to install to SH 4 in my Steam folder on another hard drive, due to the auto boot up and install in the installation, it looks for the game on my SSD drive resulting in a failed to find game message, version I have on Steam is 1.3. The only option the patch allows is what language to install in and then boots away, cannot do a manual install path, surprised that those with the savvy have not got hold of this file, got into it and created a manual path and then posted their copy of it.

So far I have compressed it so I can do a manual install through Winrar but do not know what file to install it to in the Steam/Steamapps/common/Silent Hunter folders, any help to solve this.

Installing the 1.4 patch on the Steam 1.3 version, is impossible.

Welcome to Subsim, markthemuffin. Happy to have you aboard.

You'd be better served if you can find the Gold Edition of SH4. This is the latest version and will allow you to mod the game when you're ready as most all mods these days are made for v1.5 of SH4.

Not even the games built in UL update launcher in the Steam files will not up date it to 1.4, it will go through the motions when asked to up date and ask if you wish to run it but it still remains 1.3, bloody odd that after going direct through the game files.

If I did this it would be the fifth copy owned, four disc (worn out) and the Steam one, you could say six as I used to play it on the Amiga, many years ago. Got it logged for a rainy day tho.

Speaking as someone that has recently gone through this... Factor is correct.

If you can, however, get the "U-boat missions" expansion/patch, then it will automatically update you to V1.5.

Another $10, but the whole game for $20 isn't too bad.
