Gotta love team and fans from Iceland!

And Ronaldo did what he can do best: being a sorehead. Such belittling comments about Iceland after the game can be made if in the match before you have wiped the other team off the green by 10:0 goals, and even then it would be considered bad style and lack of sportsmanship. But to give these comments while not even having defeated the opponent is rich, really. I will never become a fan of him, not in this life. In the end, what is he more than just a skilled but narcissistic ballplayer with a lack of character and class. Germany's former goalie Oliver Kahn, also not a real fan of Ronaldo like me, recently commented best on his notorious posing on the grass by saying "In recent times I have seen his sixpack more often than the breasts of my wife."

Kahn really said that? Haha, I really started to like the guy after he ended his career. His knowledge about the sport is tremendous, same as Mehmet Scholl, who I love to listen to. Both are spot on with their comments and predictions and real characters.

Miss Netzer & Delling though.

Isn't Ronaldo cute? Iceland didn't try, he said. Well, that speaks volumes about Ronaldo and his teammates when their opponents don't even have to try, they don't even have to do anything at all, and they will still not lose. Not sure if Ronaldo is aware of it but not losing is kinda important if you want to win.

Does anyone actually take any notice of Ronaldo these days?

After France - Albania I must say that even if Albania wasn't a power house going godzilla mode on the French, they have very little to be down and blue about despite the loss. Being in the game for almost the entire game against someone who on paper should have made foie gras of the Albanians, I'll give the boys in white a solid round of applause.

One thing is what it is written on a paper another thing is the reality on the soccer field.

What some seem to forget is the psychology in a game-France is at home-people expect them to win. They have a huge pressure on them and that can sometime backfire.

England beat Wales 2-1. Good to see us scoring in injury time instead of conceding as we did against Russia.

About this England-Wales match and the referee

One thing is almost sure-He has probably blown his whistle for the last time in this tournament.

The penalty committed by the Welsh player in their defend area in the first half, was coarse and should have been discovered by the referee.

The UEFA referees comity see these things and this referee got a big minus in his performance book.

German draw with Poland, 0-0.

German defence improved, German striking still lacks precision and that last bit of determination.

Both teams neutralised each other, the result - both the draw and the two zeroes - is okay.

Ukraine is already out in this group, Ireland, Poland and Germany still must kill one more amongst them.

And since the Irish seem to not wanting to be just cannon fodder and played quite strong, it is absolutely possible that on a bad day next Tuesday - it will be the Germans driving home, too. They are good and have the strongest player pool of the tournament, but they still do not show to be as superior as many people before the tournament expected, hoped, wished for. Too much fruitless arts in their gameplay so far. Bang-buck-ratio needs to improve drastically - and quickly now. I think the Poles will beat the Ukraine. They defeated Germany in the last match of the qualification round, so they are absolutely capable. If Ireland lands a winning punch, it would be the Poles and the Irish surviving the group.

Last call for Löw to be deeply worried. Its not the time to pose "cool" and "relaxed" any longer.

Götze disappointed. Gomez did not fit in, or the team did not understand how to play in his support.

48th minute an absolute shocker for Poland missing dead on in front of goal!

Die Mannschaft extremely lucky to escape with a draw.

After the game Jogy was quoted as saying he was happy with the draw!
Of course he was!
He knew.

Historically Germany has always had poor showings in their second game in a major competition, and you are right of course, the time to act cool is over, although you know of course that amongst other things, a sign that the coach isn't cool, calm and collected anymore is not a clever move.

Certainly not to the outside world, but even internally, what show would that be to the players?
If the coach isn't cool.

Yes, realistically Germany so far haven't shown good form, they haven't shown good and consistent form since winning the world cup.

Poland only needs to draw in their last game, so do Germany.
That is enough for both teams to advance, no wins needed by either.

Although it's important that Germany go for a win.
Will they play recklessly, open and fast counterattacks, not stack players in defense, play a passing game and keep posession or will they play open football?

They have to be careful Nth Ireland are fast on the wings, and play a good counterattack.
Much like Poland. And indeed Ukraine.

I think the former, to avoid that drive home.

They have always had problems in scoring since Klose retired and when he was in his prime.

Gomez is a dud, they picked him purely because of his goal haul in that infamous Turkish league, i mean you have to be kidding that a player gets picked purely on a goal haul in a league that no-one cares about and isn't really competitive on the world stage along with other leagues.
If he had scored majorly in lets say the Premier League or the La Liga or Bundes League then i could understand.

It isd what it is, Goetze is out of form.

Hummels had a good game, very strong defensively, Boateng of course as well.

Kroos once again proving he is such a talent.

It won't be enough for stallwarts like Boateng, Kroos, Hummels and Khedira to carry them thrtough to the final.

Drexler shows signs of being a important cog to the team but still developing, and a major tourney is not the place to have players who are still developing their careers, an arguement can be made that players need to be blooded, but when so much is at stake, caution and clever selections take precedence.

In the voice of Bruce Buffer: It's time!

German team is like Abba with a ball: well-behaved, kind, clean and tidy.

They could soon be facing their 'Waterloo'

So could England for that matter

But Abba was more fun. And they made way better music.
