UEFA Euro 2016

I assume you all know the UEFA Euro 2016 start on Friday 10th of June i France

Let it be a sports event which will be remembered for the great achievements on the field and not what everyone goes around and fear will happen.

So let the party begin

I hope Germany will go all the way

Hoping too for Germany. But I am afraid, it is just not enought what the team has...it seems as it is leaking something...

The odds I fear are good for Spain (again) as well as for France. France at least always claimed the title when a tournement was at their place. However, may even Belgium as a secret favourite I would bet. Iceland would be cool, if they rock the championship after their really nice qualification.:D

After Eurovision, do you think we'll see Australia too?

Ever the optimist I'll stick with my Country England and as already alluded to, hope the tournament is remembered for what happens on the pitch and not off it.

Spanish clubs dominated the champions league, and I imagine the Spanish team will do the same in this tournament.

The Germans, just my feeling, are not as strong anymore as they were when the humiliated Brazil two years ago. As usual they will get far. But that they claim the championship in the end is anything but certain. Maybe yes, maybe not.

Somehow I feel not that much interested anymore this time. I felt stronger for German teams there were in the past.

I see the English fans have wasted no time getting down to business. :yep:

So...the movie Eurotrip does have a 100% accurate portrayal of British Football fans.

Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much spot on. :yep:

Alienating result yesterday, France-Romania, because the 1:0 was after the French attacker fouled the Romanian keeper (very hard to see, but decisive action), and the penalty was unjustified: the Romanian attacker before again had committed a foul the ref did not see.

The match was so-la-la, a draw would have been fairer, me thinks.

Video evidence form next tournament on. Many many years too late. It works in American sport leagues so well, is a sign for fairness and professionalism. The opening match of a tournament: and two of three scored goals were due to misjudgements by the referee: how could traditionalists defend that with "sportsmanship" and "spirit of the game"? At least the two mistakes neutralised each other, without these goals, the win still would have been France.

One has just to look at the ones that organizes these Cups and I've already said enough me thinks.

Anyway apart from the fact that Netherlands didn't qualify which could've given me the minimal of reasons to watch any of it, after having watched the Rugby World Cup last year I find myself in a position I can't stand to watch this pansyball anymore where you have a bunch of overpaid clowns that are too busy with their hair, complaining at the referee and crying on the ground.

You... got some points there... :yep:

Feuer Frei! 06-11-16 07:23 AM

Gomez as lone striker, along with Goetze. Gomez a god send for Die Mannschaft after having a blinder in.......wait for it.....the Turkish League :haha:

Once again the defense looks suspect.
But then that's what they said 2 years ago.

Fitness looks suspicious with many of the established names. Even Teamgeist and fighting spirit can get exhausted, physically.

As if the French security services haven't already got enough to contend with :nope:

Mind you, in all fairness, I've read reports stating the Russian fans and some locals started it.

MGR1 06-11-16 08:24 AM

I don't think England footie fans really have to do anything, TBH. Even if they don't look for one, a fight normally finds them.:hmmm:

Mike.
