Hmm...just watched the log and I can see that you are still having problems.
Fixed now. I blame one-fingered typists. Last edited by ExFishermanBob; 02-13-16 at 08:00 AM. |

You could (for now), double-click on an assignment, then select the status as "Missing, believed KIA, needs KIA KtB", then use the KIA button (which will then become enabled). If you hover over items with your mouse, pop-up help should appear. OK, I've added: VIIB IXB IIa IIc VIIC IXc IXd2 IXc/40 IXb Last edited by ExFishermanBob; 02-20-16 at 08:57 AM. I have not attempted to solve my problems with v7 since my computer recovery. But I will attempt again later today.

There is a problem for some people with version 9 - it is related to the Windows Registry, which is accessed in order to located the SH3.EXE installation directory: I knew it would be a problem, the registry always is. The error shows itself by the following error:-
Code:
Conversion needed - version 6 to version 7 No message file set - no conversion possible Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 140, in on_preferencesToolButton_clicked File "<string>", line 144, in on_actionPreferences_triggered File "C:\sh3utils\preferences.py", line 45, in __init__ File "C:\sh3utils\sh3installation.py", line 35, in __init__ File "C:\sh3utils\sh3installation.py", line 51, in setup_paths File "C:\sh3utils\sh3installation.py", line 78, in fetch_SH3EXE_directory FileNotFoundError: [WinError 2] The system cannot find the file specified === Technical bit follows === This is related to 32 / 64 differences, and differences in registry behaviour ("Registry Reflection") in Windows 2008, Vista, 2003, XP, 7 and 2008 SP2 (yes, that's right, 2008 SP2 behaves differently to 2008, and WIndows versions differ between themselves too,how wonderful!). That is, you can have combinations of 32 / 64 bit programs reading 32 / 64 bit registry entries which might or might not be reflected. And then sometimes you can't. How I love programming in windows (where's the "not really" icon?) Indeed - I've always resisted reading from the registry precisely because of these sorts of issues, but for some users, setup is problematic. Version 10 now notices when things are awry and leaves the user to sort it out as before.
More semi-automatic, than automatic. ![]() |

Er, not sure about what you are asking - the real-life date is stored in the database, but I'll need a little more information.

Version 11 released. Fixes duplicate entries bug in BdU. Added "ALL CAPS" button in send message dialogue (only affects Comments, Supplemental and Notes fields)

Command-line not yet working.
For the real date, the server date is used which is currently date-time without timezone (which means my local timezone, GMT). I will add the (optional) display to:

Thank you for your constant efforts to improve your amazing tool ! ![]() It would be very useful for DEF players to know when in RL the encrypted messages (with Enigma) have been sent. Because they have to know the RL date of the messages to set the Enigma machine with the proper key to be able to decrypt them. So, I though that it would have been useful to add another column for the RL date of the messages, next to the in-game date column. That would be also useful to sort the new messages with the RL date ! ![]() Best regards, F. |

Your username is associated with the DEF flotilla, not the public RTE one (which is what you are trying to send to). If you are wanting to post to RTE as well, let me know and I'll add you to the RTE as well.
This, by the way, is why I am going to split the tool!. Last edited by ExFishermanBob; 04-20-16 at 10:06 AM. Reason: Corrected actions I would take |

I've noted that there is a python library for Enigma messages, I could add it and see if it works as well. Off-topic, I have been thinking about an instant-messaging client but how it would work with boats being at different dates is something to puzzle over. I suppose BdU would receive all messages, with the relevant WWII date, and UBoat captains would see messages that happen to cross their time-line as it were. The problem will be keeping the IM client in time with the game-time (e.g. when compression is used). I'll have to ponder. |
