TWoS gives you just that, through the Generic Patcher by TDW. You need v1.2 installed non steam. If you have Steam version I believe there is a workaround to get the patcher working now and you should find that in this forum. Curious as to why you want to dive stern first, are you planning on being the first member to do an entire patrol backwards?

Good point, you could also pile a load of stuff and oil into the forward tubes and fire them out so they float to the surface, fooling the attackers into thinking you've been blown apart by DC's, but maybe that just sounds like a plot from a bad sub movie...
