What is the starting date on your in-game calendar? I don't know about LSH3, but it may start you in August, a month before the war begins.

Hey, just a guess, but I would suspect the German neutrality at the start of the war is to take advantage of rogue status. I.E. Unauthorized sinkings of neutral vessels can cause the German Navy to fire upon you.

That's a good point. If the Germans are friendly then they may only fire on you when you fire on a German ship. Making them neutral would do exactly as you suggest.

Okay, I finally got smart. And curious. It didn't occur to me before to just load up SH3 and check for myself. I use GWX, and starting a new career I got exactly the same result - Germany is also neutral.
I think ColonelSandersLite hit the nail on the head. ![]()
