Thanks for the welcome! So anyone know the solution to these? They seem like they would be such a common issue of using the editor that there would be more info out on it, but I just cant find any way to solve them.
On the question of the crew abilities, I know how to edit in promotion points to a save game file, but I want the points, or the crew already promoted, from the start of the mission normally. |

I've searched through everything and can't find the answer. I would be happy if I could just get the port icons to appear on the map. I've tried editing the location, and there's all kinds of crap to choose from but no port icon symbol. I've read everything in the above link, googled endlessly, I give up.

To add a port to SH5
Use object editor to add the actual port (object dr2) Use ME2 to add a naval base (land) and add name here Use ME2 to add a gen and link it to the common nodes. Then edit gen to link it to the naval base ![]() |

I'm not sure how to use nodes yet or how they work. I'd had a naval base NavalBase01 already there that had working refit if you got close to it, however invisible. So after seeing your post I, in my total lack of understanding nodes, placed a path node Node1 near the base and put a generator node named NavalBase01 next to it, and linked them. Then I clicked edit on the generator node and it brought up the "NodeForm", but it wouldn't let me edit any of the fields, except for the start and end date filters, so I'm not sure how to link it to the naval base. When I try to validate, it says this: WARNING: Node NavalBase01 does not have a related naval base. WARNING: Node NavalBase01 does not have any related map locations. Edit: I discovered an old but good link on this site, that I can't believe I overlooked before, that has a lot of useful info about the nodes, so I'm going to be experimenting with this some more and hopefully get it all figured out thoroughly enough, when I have a chance, tonight or tomorrow. I'll get back to you folks as to my success! Last edited by DarkAbyss; 02-03-15 at 08:43 AM. |
