Never considered that one! I guess that ramming small craft should be possible but the game does make our vessels extremely vulnerable to any form of collision damage. In an early career I even managed to lose my boat, in port, with all hands, when I accidentally pressed '5' (Flank speed ahead) instead of F5 - this caused my boat to ram the opposite dock wall . . .

Well... I will say that a thing is to ram a small fishing boat, another completly different thing is to directly smash face up a solid wall at flank

I once (and never again will I attempt it) hit a 98 ton fishing boat outside of hartlepool with a torpedo. Sort of like threading a needle on the first go while running a marathon, but surprise of surprises, I hit. The torp flung the little trawler (at what i estimated as) 100' into the air, where it flipped over like 6 times before crashing back down into the water, upside-down. Good times had by all!

I did the same as Ukonig just north of ushant in a previous career. It was spectacular but a gross waste of ammunition. Overkill is a word used lightly here.

You may be surprised, but the 20 mm AA guns are very effective against PT boats. In one of my campaigns I've killed Elco with one hit from 88 mm deck gun and about 100 hits with 20 mm.

I once was waiting around for a medium sized cargo ship to sink after I had hit her with my last torpedo.

While trying to slowly get close to her I accidentally hit her (on the side near where my torpedo hit) and she sunk.

I don't remember taking any damage maybe some but I just don't know if that ship sank from me or was it coincidence and was going to sink then anyway.

In my new career (only 4 missions into it) and twice so far my little IIA was unable to finish the job against (2 separate) 6000 tonners. They just sat there, damaged, low in the water, not doing anything else.
I was getting so frustrated with watching that BS that I was sorely tempted to try ramming a hole into the hull.
But the size difference between our two ships put me off. It would be like ramming a kiddie car into the rock of gibraltar, but who knows, maybe it would have worked, with the right circumstances...
