The 'U-Boat add-on' is Patch 1.5. It upgrades several items in the game. The u-boat war is just type IXs in the Pacific, but the Operation Monsun supermod makes a complete u-boat experience similar to SH3.
You can download the U-Boat add-on from Amazon for $9.99, or you can download the entire Gold Edition for $19.99, or you can buy it used on disc for $17.99. just out of curiosity, did subsim also get a cut when i bought my sh3 and 4 from amazon? i never really looked up, nor do i know where to look up this stuff, it would be kinda cool if they did

Does the U boat upgrade enhance any of the graphics?
I noticed some screenshots on the Amazon page for the Gold edition and they looked a whole lot nicer than in my game and yes I do have all of my graphics settings turned all the way up.

No sonar on Gold Edition
My gold edition has the sonar off and I can't turn it on. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks
