ALL locker rooms are this way.

"What I do with my friends is not up to America to dictate to me. ... The language we use, sometimes it’s homophobic, sometimes it's sexist, and a lot of times it’s racist. We do that when we’re joking with our friends, and it’s nothing personal."

This is great.

Stuff like this keeps reenforcing my theory that society is too soft these days.

That all depends on what neighborhood you happen to be in.Some the people are soft in others the only thing soft is the sole of the shoe pressing your face into the street.

Well, think about it this way.

Back when our older members here grew up, they weren't told "Everybody is a winner" and "No matter what you do, it's okay"

I grew up like that...but a lot of people are being raised to be victims because no matter what they do, they're okay and nobody will judge them.

I grew up knowing that there can't be 4 winners...there is one winner and you don't get there by just participating.

We're getting lazy IMHO. And soft....because nobody wants to offend anybody anymore. I'll use P.E. as an example. I guarantee Physical Education classes in 1960 were a lot different than they are now.

Now, no matter what game you are playing, you have the right to be offended and the right to get upset and make a big stink over somebody calling you a dummy...and the right to quit/not participate/do your own thing because of it. All because you were raised thinking that everybody is a winner and everybody is equal in sporting events no matter the score. No matter what happens, you are you and that's good enough for society.

Every time there's a bullying case in the news or something similar, it just adds to this IMHO.

People need to suck it up and learn to take it, because you can't be a winner in life by "just participating" and I think the way we teach kids early on is causing society to go soft.

"Oh. It's okay. He's a winner no matter what" has gone way too far.

I think all these people who are being "bullied" need to learn to stand up for themselves.

Just one of my opinion-theories. I remember hating a youth basketball league I signed up for because it was this way and I would tell them at the end of the games that "there can't be two winners. There's the team that won and the team that lost" and I was probably around 9 or 10 at the time.

However....

There is a point where the hazing and bullying can be a problem. I believe in a little bit of both here. If it is a problem, then don't be afraid to 1) stand up for yourself or 2) consult a higher authority on what you should do.

I'm probably going to light the forum on fire with this one if I go any further....so I'll stop now.

The touchy feely, everyone's a winner PC crowd want people to feel victimized by bullies. I always had the right cure for the bully. Give him a big dose of his own medicine in front of the friends he was trying to impress.
My first high school PE teacher was an ex-marine who ran his class like Paris Island. You didn't complain that so and so was picking on you. You either sucked it up or you dealt with it. I found out at a young age that nothing stops a bully faster than a bloody nose and a fat lip. They were always wide open for it because they thought I was some little wimp who wouldn't fight back. They were wrong. I had enough abuse from my elder brother that no bully could ever rival. At least until I busted him in the mouth. By that time I could recognize the bully and his verbal cues and pre-empt the attack with a well placed shot in the snoz. If the guy was bigger, weapons weren't far away. The random lunchroom chair, a T-square or whatever else was close at hand.

All of these anti-bullying campaigns going on today make me want to puke every time I see one of them.

Want to beat a bully without scraping your knuckles? Don't show fear. That's what they really want.

When Ralphie beat the crap outta Scott Farkas, I cheered.

+ somewhere around a million

The thing is now, bullies have figured out that the solution to that is when the kid stands up for themself, that they can run and go tell on the kid for punching them and the bully gets off while the kid is punished.

That actually happened to me. It pissed me off to no end. I'm still pretty peeved sometimes. The idiot who ruined my childhood never learned his lesson because I always got the short end of the stick. I was always told to stand up for myself and I would never be in trouble at home if I beat up a bully but the school thought otherwise.

Thankfully, it was before all the anti-bullying stuff took off and they only kept me inside during recess for a whole day.

A big problem in many schools, if you stand up to a bully, even protect yourself, you get in trouble and suspended for fighting. When I was in school, if someone attacked you, hit you, pushed you and you fought back, it was highly unlikely you would get in trouble.

I see a mindset that kids shouldn't fight for any reason, utter BS.

I believe that PC BS is going to destruct the United States inside of 10 years. Some of the stuff I've seen in my almost 14 years living here just plain blows my mind... I would have never believed it possible...

Martins mother is a lawyer specializing in workplace harassment. There is no evidence he attempted to communicate his concerns to management. I think he just see's a bigger paycheck from this than he'd be able to earn as a player.
