The end of the UK

Well, we've only just got power back on, thirty hours after the event, had a pretty nasty gust which took it out, also tore off some fence panels at a nearby building site, downed a tree and removed some tiles from our roof.
Good thing that we decided to come back from London on Sunday though since the railways shut down for all of Monday and the buses only started again in the afternoon after a double-decker got itself knocked over in the wind.

As for myself, I used the same procedure for dealing with this storm as I did for the 1987 one...I slept through it...

That's the way to do it, no point being awake and worrying what might be - if you need to be awake for something you'll soon know about it. Glad you and house ok.

Aye, was starting to get internet withdrawal too I've got a message from my Dad and he's alright too which is good, daft sod decided to spend Monday at his caravan on the Kent coast, it was quite breezy apparently.
