I keep telling you that you should buy another one, just so after you're all moved in you have something else to complain about. "Why did I do that?"
What I need to do is just have one set of screwdrivers (yes I have two - so far) permanently Velcro'd to my body somewhere.

Murphy's law states...

Any tool that you need will always be elsewhere.

Mine tend to grow a pair of legs and walk away, forgetting where they came from.

Returning a borrowed item to its place of residence is a concept that is foreign to my family members.
Along with the concept of clean as you go.

frau, another little tip. You said that you have to pull the base boards.
Lowes carries a vinyl base board that fits flush with the wall, you no doubt have some under your kitchen cabinets. A little silicone caulk will stick it to the wall, nice and clean and gives a finished look. It cuts with a pair of scissors.

I have looked at what they have, as I'll probably just replace all of the kitchen wall base at some point... it looks like it was slapped on pretty haphazardly in places. If I take it off around the fridge alcove I'll have to remove everything on that side of the kitchen anyway, which fortunately isn't much. Whether I replace any in the alcove itself will depend on how things go after taking it out, if for some reason I need or decide to get a smaller fridge that will allow for it then I'll have to do it sooner rather than later. If I get a larger model it probably won't be worth putting any back there as the fridge would not allow it to be visible anyway... in which case I'll just paint down to the floor so it what you can see at least looks clean and not unfinished. The advantage there is that I can then pick out something at my leisure and do the whole kitchen at one time since I won't have to worry about going behind the fridge.

Salt your meats and hang from the pipes. Drink powdered milk. Hang your fruits and vegetables from the same pipes as the meats. Fill the head with as much hardtack and canned goods as you can. Should carry you for months. No refrigerated needed.

We can talk about saving on water at a later time.

We are talking u-boats right

Your "Scrubbie" picture brought to mind loofa sponges. I once went to Central America and spent a bit of time in the mountains where I got to see the loofa vines growing down from the trees in the jungles. They are apparently a parasitical plant of sorts and latch onto the trees and thrive. It is sometimes rather interesting to sree the source of something one uses and really never gives much thought about...

I don't think she talks about u-boats much anymore. What's the fridge situation in Skyrim?

Most of Skyrim is a frozen wasteland. Natural refrigeration.

I need to watch Das Boot to get back in the mood for it. And unpack all my u-boat books. And hang up the matted and framed screenshot I took of my beautiful Type VII dashing through the untamed waters of the Atlantic. But of course... I have no idea where it is.

Lol, not to mention the fact that if you learn a few of the right spells, you can freeze or grill anything you like at a moment's notice.

OMG YOU GUYS I AM SO TIRED.

Was at the apt until almost 10 PM last night moving stuff around and packing and breaking down stuff I want to throw out... no more room in the dumpster so I couldn't carry much of it out there. Thankfully the trash pickup was today so there should be plenty of room for what I still need to dump.

Went back over there tonight after picking up some more boxes at Lowe's, but sadly they had no small ones and only seven of the medium size. A whole buttload of the large ones but for what I have left I can't really use those. So now I am running out of boxes to put things in, and I've already cleared out pretty much everything at the office. A couple of really small ones left there, I guess I'll take them, if I only get two dishes in each of them at least that's something. Forgot to take my tools over there so I couldn't do anything about stuff that was still attached to the walls, of which there is a ton in the way of hooks and storage things in the utility closet. That will have to wait until tomorrow night or even next week when I'm doing the final cleanup if I can't get to it til then.

Tomorrow I've got to go straight from work to my sister's house so my BiL can sign the paperwork for the moving truck, because my agent has to work her other job on Saturday and has to go in at 5 AM and won't be done til after lunchtime and we don't want to pick up the truck that early or that late. So I've got to get the stuff signed by him and then rush over to meet her at the realty office to give that to her and get the keys, then I'll have to stop somewhere to look for more boxes and then to back to the apt and continue packing up the last of it.

Fortunately I think my kin doesn't want to get too early of a start on Saturday so maybe I'll have a couple hours before it's time to get the truck down there. Oy. MOVING IS HARD PEOPLE. I hope I never have to do this again. I have a close friend who's moved, like, eight times in the past 10-12 years and honestly I think I'd be dead if I had to do that.

Well, at least I don't have to be completely out of the apt until next Friday. If small stuff gets left and I have to clear it out later and bring it in the car, so be it. It's not like I won't be over there cleaning up and patching holes in the walls. Which reminds me, I need to find a YouTube video on how to do that.

Still have not heard one peep from the building manager. Of course if they're ignoring the new phone # I provided in my notice and calling the old one, they'd be getting a disconnection recording now. If that were the case you'd think they'd be stopping by the place trying to find me.

Yeah, moving ain't no fun. I moved every 4 years until I got this house--now I have been here nearly ten, I would rather take a beating than move. But, I do plan to move one last time, in about 3 or 4 years. Going to buy some land near central Texas and build my ranch.
