My money is on Frau Kaleun if she catches one in her home.
HAI YAH!
I have a statue of a meditating Buddha with a big heavy base, however the head and body of the Buddha sitting atop it are just the right size for me to get my hand around with a real good grip (he's a skinny Buddha, not a fat jolly one). The whole thing is just the right weight to pick up and swing. It'll probably end up sitting on the nightstand in my bedroom. I consider it my weapon of first opportunity in case of a nighttime home intrusion.

You may feel it would be inappropriate to brain a burglar with the Buddha but just think of it as a very blunt lesson in karma.

Functional as a chair. Always a blunt force weapon at hand.

I had a friend once point out that a burglar came into his home in the middle of the night, opening the front door faster than he could with his key. I realize that anyone could open my door with ease, which is why I always lock the screen door before I go to bed, and use a sliding bolt lock. They won't keep anyone out, but they will make a lot of noise coming in, and that's a pretty good alarm in itself. If I'm not home? I'll just have to hope the insurance covers everything, but if I'm not there it doesn't bother me.

My weapon of choice for braining the brainless is the butt end of a rifle.

Butt stroke to the head and hold! Followed by a diagonal thrust downward from collar bone to hip. Even without a bayonet attached, it's going to hurt. That gets swiftly followed with a butt stroke to the groin.

Even the Frau agrees that Karma can be a bitch.

I have a bolo (machete) within easy reach. I figure it will get the point across.

Indeed. I myself have done preliminary investigations on hundreds of burglaries. Doors and/or windows were the points of entry or exit on every single one. Same thing for the burglaries where I was not part of the investigation, but read the reports. I did hear of a couple of burglaries in surrounding jurisdictions where a cinder block wall or roof was breached, but those occurred on large, remote, business, structures.

I'm guessing they were bored but sure enough someone will buy that chair.

...but that someone will not be me.

If I want to bludgeon someone with a big stick I'll just use one of these:

Of course there's also my penchant for finely crafted German and Japanese knives to fall back on should the kitchen area come into play.

Those will do the trick. Especially with your training.

I will never break into your abode, Frau Cuisenart.
I Promise.

PS: I would never break into any ones' abode.

It's funny you should post that...I purchased a samurai sword in China of all places back in the late seventies and honestly doubt I'd ever have the courage to use it so I appropriated an old baton prior to retirement but heeded the warnings of ex colleagues regarding the appropriation of force issue kit so now I keep 'Old Bessie' in a cupboard on the landing at the top of the stairs.

Old Bessie is a commoner garden baseball bat, easily purchased in most good sports outlets and much easier to explain away.

Sounds a little like our ol' "Tire Thumper", for checking tires of course.
