Difficulty (or good gameplay as the case may be) doesn't necessarily mean realism

Besides, 43 minutes isn't much compared to the learning curve of weeks that a lot of complex sims have, and that's just for learning systems.
That said, I can't imagine an MMO that's full-blown in terms of complexity, so this is probably a great engine and a great approach for creating a reasonably popular, populated game with lots of people to play against.
