It just burns my ass to see something we do with good intentions, and be spit on for trying.

I am sorry for advocating another quake. Thankfully for all of us , god/mother earth does not listen to me.

Well at least it was not the people actually getting helped that complained and instead a government.

Maybe Obama can harness the energy off that perfect algae growing reflecting pool revamped for $34 million tax dollars.

I doubt that it is the same kind but some folks are crazy about some type of green algae supposedly has all you need in it.

Anyway bio diesel is actually becoming popular with farmers and truckers mainly I guess because it is made in the US and doe snot have to be imported.

Everyone hears about people that drive around older Mercedes cars and VW that have diesels well alot of guys that drive full size trucks like F-250s or Dodges with Cummings engines.I have a 1992 F-250 I just buy mine form a guy that processes it it is too much trouble do yourself really though you could make a business of it.Of course the engine does need a little conversion. Only thing is you have to increase the diesel ratio when the weather gets below 60 or buy an anti gelling agent. If you are ever driving down the road and suddenly feel hungry chances are you are smelling the exhaust of a bio diesel.

Actually getting into the bio diesel business is not a bad idea you could make a living just taking it away from restaurants and selling it to people that make bio.

I once saw a Golf 2 diesel run on filtered leftover oil from the fryer.
The owner added it to the diesel fuel to cut costs.
It ran nice until he had to take the engine apart and clean it

Yeah clogged the injectors I bet.If you do it that way you better change your fuel filters very often every 2k~3k miles. You have to know what they use to fry with some places use lard which is a no go sooner or later. In the US guys like to go to Asian joints as they tend to use peanut oil so do most fast food joints.I'm betting in Slovenia they might be more likely to use lard peanut oil might be expensive there.

Some guys vacuum the vats at a restaurant or bakery what ever into a large tank mounted on trailer then they go home and pump it into tanks and run it through a filtering process.I'd rather let someone else do that part full time and use a little more chemistry as well save me the trouble that way they have made sure that the oil is kosher so to speak and they can add in anti gelling agents as well.To do it properly is a full time job if you get enough customers its well worth it 1 55 gallon drum could last two or three weeks for a truck more for a small car so people buy in bulk.Or you could also have a pump and sell it that way.

I read on a truck forum a guy said that he drove from Virginia to California in a pickup and he has a little set up on his truck to process he claimed to have used 165 gallons(one way) on the trip that is roughly 18 MPG not bad on normal diesel you get around 12~14 in a large pickup.A small car if it normally gets 40 MPG it must go to 48 or 50 MPG take that hybrid car. Oil companies hate people like me.

The industrial bio is mostly made from soy beans though.

I read that too, and was one of my initial thoughts.

My buddy has a pool, and got something in it, that makes the algae not go away. I forgot the name.

I'll ask him at work later tonite, and how it happens. I wish I knew more now.

He had to spring for a new liner, and drain it to fix it.

Every 2 years they have to drain it and refill it (reflecting pool), It is huge I been there, what a waste to us taxpayers, for something most the country will never see in their lifetimes.

I wonder what a filtration system would cost compared to every 2 years buttering some government friends bread to clean the pool?

A lot most likely they should ask around I'm sure that someone could come up with a cost effective way to keep it algae free.
