Thx this helped a ton although it was what I was doing however I didn't realise you can move underwater with empty battery

Or you could put the ciws mod in the sim...So far on one patrol 2 emelies,2 mavis,and one betty...Poor japs come hell bent for leather,just to be hit with 20mm du rounds at 2000 rds per minute...To bad we don't get points for nailing them...

You can change difficulty level while in port between patrols in the option menù.
Just change it to what you want and hit apply then start a new patrol with custom difficulty!!

The dive 1 hour before sunrise and surface 1 hour after sunset doesn't always work. I have seen fighters and bombers flying around at midnight both Japanese and American every year of the war..........

yep.

there is no connection between the radio message and aircraft behaviour.

do what you need to keep you and your crew alive.

try not to engage aircraft unless you absolutely have to engage them...because...whether you knock them down or not, they have these new technology-things called radios, and you will be subjected to a constant stream of aircraft.
